Jose Angel Vera will lead this session showing how he brings together instruments traditional and modern. Using a vibrant and fresh approach he brings together new textures and timbres influenced by folk, jazz and African music He will be inviting budding percussionists in the audience to contribute to this 'island vibe'
Manao started his musical education in Conservatory in the Hague bringing his knowledge and interest in traditional Canarias music with him. It was in this prestigious centre where José Ángel Vera and Pedro Díaz first met and decided to come together to offer their particular vision of Canarias music.
Inspired by the Canarias traditional music, Manao creates his own compositions, and also creates musical arrangements with popular songs such as Polkas from Fuerteventura, Aires de Lima and Tanganillos.
The band is well known in Holland and Manao is planning to travel across Europe, taking his music to Spain, Portugal and of course, the Canary Islands.
