Mariana Pinho Biography

Mariana Pinho is an expert in brazilian rhythms such as sambas ( reggae, de roda, batucada) and maracatu, rhythm which will be taught in this edition of WOMAD!
The artist is a dance teacher/choreographer, costume maker and Artistic Director of Gandaia Arts, which since 2010 has produced in both educational and performance sector.
Since 2004 have worked for major companies/projects such as Young Vic, Cardboard Citizens, BBC, London School of Samba, amongst many and has performed in several countries such as Germany, France, Algeria, Greece, Brazil and all over the UK!
Part of the WOMAD family since 2008 when performing and teaching with Monobloco this year she is bringing hoop skirts ( arrive early!) to give you the real feeling of Maracatu movements and flow!
