WOMAD Presents… At The Tower Festival: 19th - 20th September 2009

WOMAD and The Tower festival have come together to bring you a unique World Music experience in the historic grounds of the Tower of London. You’ll be able to enjoy the full WOMAD experience at the Tower, the crème de la crème of world music artists, children’s and adult workshops - and of course, our signature flags will be adding the finishing touches, making WOMAD Presents at The Tower of London Festival a feast for the senses. It would be all to easy to loose your head in the excitement.

Saturday 19th September will see performances from the legendary Khaled and The award winning Imagined Village (featuring Eliza and Martin Carthy, Chris Wood and Billy Bragg) with other special guests to be announced.

Sunday 20th September brings an exclusive London performance from the groundbreaking improvised sound clash of The Bays and The Heritage Orchestra supported by the legendary Tony Allen.

WOMAD Charlton Park

Spring is in the air, the sun is shining and we are working hard to bring you a great WOMAD Charlton Park festival.

We’re enjoying your conversations on the forum, reading your dream line-up suggestions and comments on the event. It’s good for us to know what you think. We’re still working on some details of the line-up ourselves, but we will be able to announce the first selection of this year’s artists on March 18th. We can’t reveal any details at the moment but we promise it will be worth the wait.

If you enjoyed the delights of a relaxing Jacuzzi mid festival last year, you’ll love the return of the spa feature to WOMAD Charlton Park 2009. Come and be pampered by friendly staff, drink cocktails at the bar and relax in the Jacuzzis. You shall leave the spa looking like festival royalty!

WOMAD Summer School 27th - 31st July 2009

“This week has been fantastic and inspiring, exceeding all my expectations” (2008 student).

For their third year running WOMAD Summer School will be bringing dedicated and talented artists from around the world to the idyllic grounds of Bath Spa University. The WOMAD Summer School is a week of workshops, collaborations and discussions. It will be a great opportunity to learn first hand from some of the worlds most accomplished performing artists.

The artists and courses for 2009 are:

• Singer Songwriters: Andy White
• Voices: N’Faly Kouyaté
