As long as the tent is not someone’s place of work, in which case it would be illegal to smoke in there.
Ignoring the fact it is illegal to smoke anyway!
Or is it illegal to smoke or is it just illegal to supply.
In fact can you spend a day without breaking some law or by-law?

I'm a smoker so my comment is partial - as with all the others. I feel that festivals are adult events - not that I wish to ban kids - I took my own when hey were old enough to make up their own minds and look after themselves. But where do you draw the line. What if you're camping next to kids/ non smokers?
I Don't mind smoking outside covered areas unless it's peeing down.
It's this kind of ceaseless intrusion into freedoms and nanny statism that is....................blah blah. Or am I just bitter and twisted???

im a heavy smoker myself and dont feel i should skinup and toke when there is a young family sitting right by me or nearby , its a tiny bit offside imho to do it right in front of kids and people who might not like it and have to deal with children asking wot was that man doing etc it also gives out the wrong impressions, instead i just go find a quiet space around the festival where i can relax and toke i think thats fair enough, saying that my mate got pulled like that last year just sitting on his own minding his own business and the plod clocked him ,so much for karma eh!

I don't even smoke and people ask me to move along!
Charming!

I don't smoke tobacco or weed, but if someone offered me a toke at a festival I probably wouldn't refuse whether there were children around or not, although I would try to keep well away from 'rugrats' as JayCee calls them ;)
My kids were educated from an early age as to what a spliff was. I don't think you should over-protect kids by not exposing them to rolling/smoking a spliff or indeed the facts about all drugs - including tobacco and alcohol. Anyway, a festival is my holiday, I've paid for the ticket so if you don't like it if I choose to roll or smoke a spliff, move away. That goes for cops too

Ok gonna sound old here :) Times past there was Morrocian, red leb and black, they all smelt realy sweet and pleasant although black was stronger, the modern skunk smells aweful and I understand its stronger.
The law on smoking is clear that you cant do it in an enclosed public space and that includes tents although I would find it perverse if someone started having a go at someone smoking a spliff outside in the arena; its a festival after all not the World of Mothers and Dads. As PD says its about education, I was with one of ours boys at Stonehenge Sostice years ago, he asked me what the odd smell was I told him it was cannabis. Hes at Uni now alcohol is their drug of choice!

Cannabis is a Class B drug, possession can lead to 5 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both, whilst dealing can result in 14 years in prison and an unlimited fine or both.
This law applies regardless of where you happen to be, it's just as illegal if you are at home, in a tent or on a festival site.
Will all of those who have just confessed to using illegal substances please arrange to meet up at a predetermined location where officers of the law will be waiting to escort you to a very private festival.

I only said I liked the smell.......

I got an official warning just for liking pizza!!

Like I said you can hardly go a day without breaking a law or by-lay.
Laws should be there to protect society, not restrict personal choice and freedoms.
