for all those who struggled with late night or early morning noise, may I suggest a small donation to action on hearing loss for a pair of foam ear plugs
Hey Newbie, forget the Nook(ie?) for next year. Just come and camp with us riff raff in the communal peaceful non elitist general camping area where life is wonderful all the time and everybody shares their cups of tea and magic moments
I wasn't bothered by late night - or early morning noise. Must have pitched my tent in the perfect space.... Sleep better in my tent than I do at home, of course that might also have something to do with being abosolutely knackered by the time I went to bed!
Re: teenagers. The past few years have been somewhat marred by teenagers and whilst not being particularly affected by them myself I was deeply shocked at some of the treatment that some Womaders experienced last year from teenagers ( see last years forum). Womad have obviously taken time to try and think through solutions and this was evident this year in there being fewer feral teenagers off their faces spoiling it for everyone. However I also heard stories of the heavy handed approach by security guards. I understand the need to remove alcohol from underage teenagers and to pour it away so that there are no accusations of security people taking alcohol for themselves but they could do it with less glee and not pour it all over the ground where the teenagers are actually sitting.
Re: showers. Whilst the individual cubicles were lovely - esp at night after a sweaty dance in the arena could we please have both cubicles and communal showers for those of us who dont mind mixing it with others. That way there would be less queueing all round.
