WOMAD Discussion » Why the date conflict each year with Cambridge Folk Festival
Anyone got any idea why WOMAD always seems to conflict with the Cambridge Folk Festival. The audiences are somewhat different but also overlapping, so having both events on the same weekend - 25th-28th July 2013 next year - is not only inconvenient if you want to attend both festivals but also poor marketing in that it stops both events maximizing their audience. What have I missed?

I'd imagine they've both picked that weekend as memorable and / or available and / or maximising the weather and it will be a case of the first one to blink...
... it also seems to clash with the Hungarian grand prix. Might have to email Bernie Ecclestone about that and see what he can do ;-)
