Yes, policing worries aside, I'm concerned about the weather conditions now, not during the festival. If this was a better forum, I could post some of my pics from Beatherder which was a bit of a mudfest with tents in ruts with puddles, but it ain't so I can't. I'm sure you all have memories of the last muddy Womad (not calling it Womud because mud isn't exclusive - there are very many festivals which suffer muddy conditions). That was one big downpour but there have/will be lots more before 26th July. Worried coz I'd rather wear sandals than wellies.

As much as we all maon about it, weather does what it does. We just have to adapt. It ain't like we're not used to pants Summers.
Anyway, the thing to remember is...it ain't like we live in monsoon ridden Bangladesh or the like,..we, at least, still have the choice.

I spose I should've put this on the weather thread. Sorry. Not quite back up to speed yet.

Is the term 'Mr Plod' offensive??? Really?? What about 'bobby' or 'copper' or 'old bill' or rozzer??
If we are worried that our 'police service' may be offended by these terms then I think that we have reached a new level of political correctness. I'm sure that our police service are trained to deal with such comments and much worse so I wouldn't worry about hurting anyones feelings.

Agreed, I can never resist a deep grumbling "evening, all" whenever I pass a policeman/woman. Shellovski - do you mean a new type of PC?

Looks like it's gonna be academic what we call them this year. They won't be coming to the party (so far). Shame, I was looking forward to revisiting Neil's classic lines from the Young Ones.

Not to mention Warlock.
