  ...said the bishop. JY do a survey! Mine's still in it's rightful place. I'd guess 50% after 2 days and 10% after a week. We're still coming down from such a fantastic WOMAD

  Well WOMAD, you have done it again ... another brilliant weekend of music, weather and spirit. This is my third year at WOMAD since the move to Charlton Park - great venue - and great memories of Reading and Cornwall in the past. Alot of comments in the months leading up to the weekend about the lack of real headliners, but they have missed the point entirely so hats off to WOMAD for introducing us to even more great bands, bards, singers and musicians and a great way of celebrating 30 years. Highlights .. where to start?! Great sets from Diabel Cissoko, Raghu Dixit, Spiro, Kimmo Pohjonen Balkan Beat Box and the Portico Quartet. Not a huge fan of Rap but inspired billing of Joe Driscoll and Seckou Kouyate. The Aleav Family was one of the best wake up calls I have had in years and really there is little more to be said about the Manganiyar Seduction - sensational Not sure if the new position of Radio 3 stage is right yet, just a bit too enclosed for the increasing number of fans to this wonderful corner of the site. The variety of food was again delicious. There is nothing like settling down on the grass late in the evening in the Siam tent with a Chai and hot doughnut. Best food ? Goan Fish Curry. oh and bring back MC Johnny Kalsi !

  I always stop at the4 M4 membury services on the way home and feel somehow comforted by the amount of wristbanded people I see. Perhaps we should keep the band on all year?
