It's the only bit of tech I bring with me, I thoroughly enjoy a weekend away from TV, radio, computers and Internet.
Me to! And yet can't seem to tear myself away when I get back! I've LITERALLY been on the computer all day today! My poor kids!! xxx
I only checked the phone a couple of times a day in case elderly in-laws or cattery left a message - Otherwise..... bliss!
We always take our own washing bowl, as we find it a godsend to have a cool wash in the morning (no wipes required). We queued for ages for a banana fritter but gave up in the end, but I'm glad to hear they were worth the wait anyway! The curry from the madras Cafe was still as good as usual, as was finally locating a jacket potato (honest!).
We were in the Park & Camp, which we found pretty quiet, apart from an interesting mix of Seth Lakeman and whatever was on at Molly's Bar as we were dropping off to sleep (you could hear Lakeman better if you tuned into World On 3). The only downside was the nice man from security who came over to our tent at 11.30 on a relaxing Monday morning to inform us that we had to be packed up and moved by 12, due to "the events people having to get access through the P&C area." Packing was fun (we have a large tent), though by the time that we'd moved, gone off to have some food and walk pack through P&C there was no evidence of anything being driven over the site - I suspect a ruse to get the place cleared......
Programme was a rip-off - £7.50 just for a glossy front page! However, having a go on the Batphone on Monday afternoon when no-one was looking was fun
We were in P&C this year and I loved it. So much better than having to walk back and forth to the car so well worth the extra money for us. We had good neighbours too.....maybe you were one of them Gurdybloke?
See I don't walk backwards n forwards to the car? I bring everything out of the car on the first day? What are you going back for? Although next year we may have to make a daily trip for breakfast as we're talking about doing more cooking . . .especially if Tea n Toast is not going to be coming (I'm so devastated that they weren't there that I could still cry!) . . . n we have a fridge that plugs into the car. xxx
I was geared up for park and camp but ended up going into camping- with the same amount of gear. Blimey Sunday afternoon, I could have done with Hannibal and his elephants to get it all back to the car. Smaller tent next year as its only me now, any one want a 4/8 person Khyam Ridedome?
You need to get yourself a festival trolley DT . . . they're invaluable . . . they were renting them out this year, but not as big as ours. Ours was £75 of ebay. xxx
I have a commercial sack truck- the tent weights 23 KG on it own!
We would only go back and forth to get all the gear out initially. After that the car is abandoned until Monday. We do take an awful lot of stuff for 2 people though and so it was worth paying extra to have some energy reserves left for the evenings entertainment. Don't forget that I am at least 30 years older than you YM!
Our tent is a monster also DT. You have seen how tall 'Warrior' is, so you can see it would have to be a big tall tent for him to be comfortable!
