What a dull set. Wasn't really WOMAD was it? Only livened up a bit when JuJu did their stuff. Wandered off for something to eat in the end and luckily Boubacar Traore put me back on track - who was the harmonica player with him - brilliant,

Have to agree, one of very few low points. See others liked him though.

The harmonica player is Vincent Bucher he was stunning last night.

100% behind you there. Crowd puller, that's all it was.Lat year's Sunday headliner was just as bad. Not Womad at all.

have to agree that RP was not that great. My neighbour at Womad described him as a musican comfortable with what he was doing. I do agree but it came over to me that RP had got some mates around and strummed out a few old classics, yes he was very comfortable, but do we love Womad because it is in our musical comfort zone. I think not, I think all Womaders like to see the bounderies pushed and find something new. I was hoping RP would be travelling musically into a new world of music, with bounderies pushed and rules torn up but no, it was safe and comfy.

Glad it wasn't just me then! I only lasted for one and a half songs!

Well said folks, I was a tad disappointed with RP's set too. I was hoping that the 'Shapeshifters' would include a few surprises - such as Johnny Khalsi and some more the the muscians who had appeared over the weekend. It didn't have the Womad festival closing act 'wow factor'. Would have been better with Afro Celts or Dhol Foundation IMO. I also wondered why were there no fireworks to mark 30 years of Womad? What a shame, it could all have ended in such a high

I couldn't face him after the Manganiyar Seduction..then wondered if I missed something..thanks folks!

Ah, now you're talking JY. What a magnificent production that was! It totally blew me away - amazing

Well said, Purpledawn. I thought there was something wrong with the sound mixing during the RP set. Odd basslines trying to simulate a dubstep feel.......I did not feel it worked. Still, it was and exciting combo of stars and it was nice. I'd forgotten the 30th celebration thing til I got home! Low key womad!
