WOMAD

  On the info. it says that the gates open at 2pm on Thursday. What time do you recommend getting there to start the festivities? I don't have a campsite to set up, I'm just driving in to pick up tickets, and catch the Thursday shows. I'm trying to arrange train schedules, etc...and I don't have a good understanding of what time to try to be at WOMAD that day. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  WHAT?! Where does it say that??? Gates normally open 8am!! xxx Arena open from 2pm??? xxx
  If you don't have a camp to set up I'd just arrive for about 5pm?? Give you chance to get your tickets n have a wander around before the show starts. xx

  Well you may have to rethink that Pinklady if you're not allowed in until 2!! . . . I'm sure it must be arena open at 2pm . . . I don't see why they'd change it? x

  I apologize...the Arena opening time is 2pm. As a first timer,and non-camper I just saw that time, and didn't realize it opens earlier for campers, I guess.

  You might be interested to know, Ela, that at one time there were no live bands on on Thursday but that there were films and other bits of entertainment for the campers arriving on Thursday. It's still not a full blown festival day and the live acts will be on in the evening. Some traders (maybe even some caterers) will still be getting ready for the big day on Friday. Arrive when it suits you and wander round to get an idea of the site layout. Have fun!

  Yes I'm OK - camping gates open at 8 so with rush hour traffic on M25 and M4 ........ Hopefully get tent up by time bars open at 2pm!!!
