i had never heard of them till a womad update came my way. before i went to new orleans for french quarter festival and jazz fest, i knew iwas seeing the blind boys of alabama.dengue fever was playing 1 eyed jacks, and to show how much i didn't pay attention to the womad update, i thought they were on realworld records.a stunning, hip shaking, earth moving experience for sure, got to meet them, get some autographs on my purchased cd! might have been the best thing i saw in new orleans!by the way blind boys with charlie musselwhite, dirty dozen brass band and henry butler show(together and separate) gave the world lots of hope for the future! bring womad back to the U.S., you'd be showing lots of people what they're missing!

Looking forward to seeing them in London tonight at The Scala - it sounds like a good night from the Time Out listing...
Darkly swirling California-based rockers - given a distinctive edge by the shrilly melodic vocals of Cambodian singer Chhom Nimol and whose music has featured in several films, including 'City Of Ghosts' and 'Broken Flowers' - kick off their first European tour of 2009 with a one-off London date in support of their new documentary 'Sleepwalking Through The Mekong'. Punk and reggae kingmaker Don Letts, of Big Audio Dynamite, provides what should be memorable DJ support.
