  'Ere are you lot takin the p*ss? Just coz I've got no head or bum doesn't mean I'm stupid. When I said this forum reminded me of the Archers forum, I meant that to an outsider neither forums appear to have much variety in topics or opinions. I also noted that those who expressed strong opposition to different ideas were not accepted into the 'clique'. Just an observation....I have been known to be wrong.

  I have expressed opposition to several things and want a broader spectrum of music. Gary (Shelvoski) who started a similar threadto this made some strong points points I didn't agree with some points and there was debate on what is good & bad about Womad. The only person ever to be point blank disagreed with was a most disagreeable poster who despite full info from Scrummy Mummy told her rudely she was totally irresponsible for bringing a Neonate to Womad.
  A clic has to have people with similar views; we are not like minded . Purpledawn described Womad as 'corporate and elitist' I said about Shell sponsership 'does it matter?' Some opposed those views, we still feel able to post. I think its open minded ness and respecting other view points and the reasons behind them, that may come across as bland middle ground. I hope there is not a non accptance of differant views.
  Ps I must add that having watched the 24 hours in A&E you do appear a little hypoxic MT, get down to the nearest Oxygen Bar.

  MT definitely not taking the p*ss. We were simply messing about,mind you it is interesting to think of differing combinations of music and how they may just work. Unlikely marriages, like who would have said that Waltz and Jazz would blend, until John Coltrane did "My Favorite Things" ? and the theme tune to The archers is after all an all time classic, but I'm not aware of anyone touching it except Billy Connolly. :-

  I do agree that it may appear sometimes on this forum that if you don't express the "everything is wonderful" view then you can receive a negative response, however as DT points out it is good to be able to but any views up. I certainly have and have been disagreed with on my non-understanding of why womad won't tell us who is playing. There was another strong debate on whether Womad should have a screen for the Olympics. It's not always the same people that are questioning and those defending womad, they change places depending on the debate, which is a good thing.

  Can I just say that I think that Amy and Alan are being a bit harsh on Usha? Can I also ask that if anyone has any influence can they arrange for Kanda Bongo Man to come and play at the 30th party - I know he was there a couple of years ago but you would make me happy and I know that you would feel good about that.   @MT - The reason the forum does not have much variety in theme and content is that not many people use this forum in comparison to other festival sites. Which is a good thing as there is no constant trolling and eveyone can have a laugh. As for disagreemnents - I disagree with everyone includng me but I tend to keep this to myself
