Lots of good suggestions here.
Gillian Welch and David Rawlings would make a completely superb addition to the festival. And if you can't get Taj Mahal - maybe Keb Mo... Some New Orleans based music would also be great. Dr John ?? or maybe that great English N.O. star John Cleary.
On the Latin Front -- Gilberto Gill if he's still performing these days. Also how about some Cuban Jazz -- there's a hot pianist called Dayramir Gonzales (band is Habana Entrance) - who would tear the place down.
I'd also personally like a recall on either or both of Jah Wobble and Soil and Pimp Sessions - who were both highlights for me when they played last year and the year before.
And for the African contingent - yes Tinariwen would be top of my list for sure.
Unfortunately the likes of Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen are I think a little beyond the means of Womad.
But as ever -- it usually the acts that one has barely heard of that provide the real pleasure at WOMAD -- Feu Follet really did it for me this year.

Nick Pynn

Adriano Adewale

Seckou Keita

Antonio Forcione

or how about
Adriano Adewale and Antonio Forcione

or even better
Adriano Adewale, Seckou Keita and Antonio Forcione playing together
if someone from WOMAD gets a chance to see some of the footage from their Edinburgh Fringe show this year I know they'll want to book them!!!!!

Ravi Shankar and Peter Gabriel please!

...and bring back Senor Coconut - brilliant

Herbie Hancock
