Yeah, felt there could have been a better line-up for Sat eve.... or have BBB on later as they were amazing!! Re. Cornershop - "Superb"? Have to agree with Linx - zero stage presence - was biggest musical let-down of weekend for me

no one mentioned Breabach. . . ? your loss

Saturday was my best day. But that could have been more down to general vibe and mood rather than the music. I thought on Saturday and Sunday that the 7 o'clock act should have been the headliner . . . Femi Kuti I personally thought was brilliant and should have headlined and the same for Omar Pene on the Sunday.
Maybe as someone said they were trying to tailor it for people with kids . . . but let me tell you why that doesn't work!!! 7pm is the WORST time for people with kids to see stuff (well, if you parent anything like me that is!) . . . mine usually go to bed at 7 at home so I always take them back to the tent about 6/7 to start winding down and settled for bed . . . only when they are asleep (which was around 8:30 this year) can I head back out again, leaving them tucked up with my mother (who likes to be asleep by 10 bless her).
I was soooooooooo gutted this year as I missed LOADS of people I wanted to see cos I was doing mum stuff!!! Most gutted about Tokya Ska Paradise Orchestra . . . somebody please tell me they were rubbish!!! xxx
However! Back to Saturday . . . Khaled was my highlight of the whole weekend (especially when Johnny Kalsi came out!!) I thought Karayce Fotso was a bit of a let down actually n I couldn't hear Blick Bassy all that well from the Siam Cider Bar! Me and the oh were then at Molly's until 4am . . . and the baby got up at 5am . . . hence I felt poo on the Sunday!! xx

Dammit . . . just watched Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra live @ Womad 2012 on you tube n they were definitely not rubbish . :( xxx

Saturday - excellent day
Raghu Dixit
Patrick Wolf
Portico Quartet
Kimmo Pohjonen
Ska Cubana
hmmmmm not sure what happened after that.....hmmmm thought it was Maga Bo but that was Friday......I think maybe we just chilled out in the World of wellbeing ;-)

One of the best things that we came across on Saturday were the Lions of Africa getting in some practice at the Chai Chapel Tent drumming session - Tea was good too!

See it's those magical unbilled moments of Womad that really make it so special!!!
I wonder if I'll ever top 2010 xxx I thought this year was my year . . . and don't get me wrong I had a wonderful time . . . but it was no 2010. xxx

Thought Saturday was fine, many undiscovered acts in the whole weekend, thought I'd be at Radio 3 and Taste the World all weekend, only ever passed through them. Yes 2010 was a highlight but this year was really good helped by a camp melded of PG forum and this forum members who all got on. Good times xx: -)
