Did you catch The Unbelievable Truth - Susan Calman very good; and Just a Minute back next week!

I've been enjoying Indian Ocean and not just for the amazing beaches. It has some great music going on. I've spotted Amadou and Mariam in episode one but there's loads I'd like to know more about. Can anyone put names to it?

Well, I'll look forward to Simon's Indian Ocean progs even more now! I had a peek on the BBC Indian Oceans site, but not found anything; though there is this query page:
http://faq.external.bbc.co.uk/templates/bbcfaqs/seostatic/resultsPage?nlpq=where+can+I+find+information+about+music+featured+in+Indian+Ocean&kb=television*music
- if we don't have some experts on this forum who would like to help identify the artists and tracks, that is!
Dead Can Dance was featured on Divine Women - I just get tingles whenever I hear them played in a prog

looking forward to catching up on Cal N Del's tour of the highlands..sounds magnificent..and Gordy and Maggie seem to have enjoyed themselves....watch this space.
Ok so the dam's worked and we're all happily muddy..practice for Womad?
next project ?
no sign of Baz and camels yet...swimming their way out of the caves? still taking shelter in a brewery somewhere? or on the trail of KH in Waitrose?
sorry to hear you didn't like the Planet Earth SS -what is the off putting bit for you? the red in tooth and claw bit?
there were some brilliant bits and it was good to see the bears and Linsey getting the coverage they should..Julia Bradbury was in tears watching one of the bears hug her cub..it was delightful..you need an edited version..
a surpise announcement would be splendiferous and yes a big thankyou to all those at womad tearing their hair out trying to get the arrangements tied up...

...!!!!!!
I think you could be right with the KH spotting for Baz and the camels!
Planet Earth Live lost me when it decided that watching the fate of a lion cub which was starving would make good television. It really doesn't. And I don't consider the taking of a life for any reason, food or otherwise, is something I need to see; it isn't educating me and it certainly isn't entertainment. Just me, I know, but there it is.
So, beaver tails it is!!!!!!!

so we might not need to build our own dams in future?!
I can understand your view - it is hard to answer the question why film crews/rangers don't intervene. The answer it is letting nature take its course and not upsetting the balance is unconvincing to me--we do so much of that which is detrimental. Mind you it was salutory when I tried to "save" a fish which had lept onto the beach..I thre it back..only to have it intercepted mid air by a larger fish predator! so much for fish do gooding!
back to the beaver tails and mudfun..

I can just see your face when the fish was intercepted, Jambo!
I agree that the "not upsetting the balance" is a paltry platitude - we have, and continue to do so much that is detrimental, as you say, as long as it pays. As economic interests rule, I don't see this changing. Species do die out, of course, but where humans are causing this then isn't it is up to us to restore habitat and remove contaminants etc? Even the synthetic fibres from our clothes are now being found in the oceans and are entering the food chain. Can we start to do stuff because it is the right thing to do, rather than weigh up the money - I'd love to think so, but think I'm just dreaming! Ah well, we can but dream!
Hey, the sun has come out and feels warm - YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just in case Baz hasn't seen KH in the Brecon Beacons Waitrose, I thought I'd leave him this as consolation:

*runs and hides!*

Currently in Ullapool, we cancelled our planned walk today due to the weather but we did find the sun when we visited Achiltibuie (try saying that after you've visited a distilery). Just About to head north again for Lochinver, fingers crossed for either of wi fi or mobile coverage. Go on Paula give up a peek at some more womad artist.

Cal N Del..I can't say it and I'm sober..I reckon you've a better chance with a dram inside!
good luck with the sun this time...I have some too SS..wandered around in the garden feeling quite disorientated, recalling this is what May is supposed to feel like!
you are right -my face was a picture and when Baz sees the link you better have run far enough away!
think we should do a synchronised mind link wiht Paula and persuade her....??
