I've tried voting for one of the bands in the bands' competition - and can't find the button to press! Help
Any advice will be gratefully received!

it might be something to do with being a member of facebook (which Del refuses to do and Cal never logs on to hers)

No I think it's broken as someone has posted on the fb page about it. x

Click on the hand (Thumbs Up), it will say 'remove your support' for some strange reason. It then takes you on to a facebook App page, once you agree to the App - you just need to click on the hand for each band you want to vote for.

Womadians seriously need to vote...sorry to get all eurovision on you but I am thinking this is a popularity game & not a true reflection of what the festival goers would elect. There are numerous good acts that have entered this year & nobody seems to be voting for them. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the groups that are getting lots of votes (though not to my taste) but I find it hard to believe that everybody would vote for them & not some of the other great acts. Just groups with lots of facebook friends me thinks.

I'm not a facebook user so can't vote.
Would be great if WOMAD could make something for voting on this site for next year. *cough*hint*cough* ;-)

Agreed, this is what I mean, it would be nice to think that those who vote are Womad audiences & not just anyone who is a member of facebook. Bring the power home

I put a name forward but I've no idea if they're in the running cos I don't do Facebook. Anyone know who the options are?

Sadly the voting system is massively flawed. It's turned the process into a bit of a Eurovision nightmare with one band racking up over 500 votes, more than double the band in fourth place. Mostly voted for in 'Block' fashion by a well meaning and supportive national campaign, but not 'generally' by Womad festival goers.
While in essence this is entirely fair within the guidelines set out by the competition, it needs to be looked at for next year otherwise genuinely small bands wont stand a cat in hells chance.
I'm all for this competition, but I'm also very much for the winner being selected for the right (musical) reasons, and by the ticket paying festival goer.
Maybe each ticket has a code which allows one vote online???????

A top idea Munners.
Try this Baz, don't think you have to be a member to view the acts:
