Thanks Bassy - I haven't hear of the Low Anthem but will give them a listen. Always interested in discovering new bands as well as the old favourites (that's why I go to WOMAD!)
Both lovely finds, Bassy - happy to see either or both on the confirmed list
Right - Womad t-shirts at Len's do!
Two more, guys:
Urbain Phileas, Sun 29th
Blick Bassy, Sun 29th
Excellent, Love Blick Bassy
we think we're going to stop reading this thread as it's a bit like finding out what your Christmas presents are in September
Look away now Cal N Del.
Updated list again...
Soul Rebels Brass Band
Owiny Sigoma Band
Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers
Ben Loncle Soul
Jupiter and Okwess International
Pine Leaf Boys
The Endless Journey
Ballet Nimba (African Dance)
Balkan Alien Sounds
The Wilderness Of Manitoba
Thanks, Venja, SBS
It's ok, Cal N Del - haven't found any more, but am really enjoying those that have been found - this thread is great for me because it puts me in touch with loads of artists I've not heard before and would miss - a discovery thread! All I want for Christmas is Dr Who!
best look away again now though .....
don't look away....don't blink.......
Standing Stone - thanks for your private message - can't reply as you have pms disabled but just letting you know I received it and appreciate you thinking of me. To be honest I think the ticket prices are too high for Leonard Cohen at the Hop Farm and I will give him a miss this time (seen him many times before!) Instead I am savouring the promised delights of Womad 2012 via youtube etc! The more I see of other festivals and events, the more reasonable Womad prices seem to be! Keep the rumours coming, Cal and Del keep your eyes closed a little longer!
