  All civil marriages require the prior agreement of the superintendent Registrar. Marriages must take place in readily identifiable premises. This will preclude marriages from taking place in the open air, in a tent, marquee or any other temporary structure and in most forms of transport.

  It was the logistics of it really that made it impossible as well as the fact that it couldn't be performed in the open air etc. I had elderly parents who couldn't travel long distances or camp and so we decided to be a bit more conventional, but, if I could have been selfish, I would have loved to have held some form of celebration at Womad. Maybe a blessing for our 10th anniversary in 2014...hmmmmm now there's a thought!!

  I know everyone says 'It's your day, do what makes you happy' . . . but you can't! My nan's the only one I feel really bad for . . . she'll hate it! But would be ok if we did the whole traditional thing the day before though. But the thought of all that makes me shudder! And my fiance even worse! x

  I would have wanted Beatroots to follow me if I'd had a wedding procession.
  I love their rhythms and their sound makes me cry every year.
