I don't recall you mentioning your husband SS . . . but he is one lucky man!! xxx Does everyone's spouse's also do Womad? I know DT's wife n kids don't n I think that's so sad for him!! xxx

My spouse introduced me to Womad in 2000, when we started going out. It holds a very dear place in my heart, as does he!!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww @ Jax!! Mine also introduced me to Womad. He went in 2005 n 2006. He told me about it as soon as we met but I insisted we couldn't afford it the first 2 years . . . obviously I didn't know what I was missing . . . but thank God we missed Womud!! I don't know what got in to me in 2009 but I just got it in my head we were going that year . . .n now I would never EVER miss it!! Even if I had to sell a kidney!!
But I love that him and I share Womad n no matter what goes on throughout the year with the pressures of life, Womad never fails to bring us back together and strengthen us . . . where we remember who we really are. xxx

Womad is brilliant on your own too; I think DT hardly had a minute to himself, such is the way of the Womad family and, of course, the wonderful outcomeof wearing sunflowers in your hat! And maybe his wife will be there this year too

Oh yay! It's not so much the actual experience of Womad together . . . sometimes I hardly see him! .. . It's the unity of sharing a common love . . . Womad is literally our life!! Lol!! xxx

yes it is the shared love of something thats important, and recalling it in the depth of winter or in a bad time. My teenagers wont come, the youngest ,15, just doesnt like it and the other 19 does but wants to be with friends his own age none of whom are into Womad. Sadly although a shared love of music bought us together my wife only this morning refused to go reminding me I'm not 17 any more!
I had offered a Spa ticket or a B&B off site. and these La de da's too. My tent is fully glamped too so no roughing it required.!
I camp with at least 2 other Peter Gabriel forum members and a family we see every year . It is great to see some of you guys too as I go round too, would'nt be the same otherwise.

DT my kids are pretty much the same, youngest 17 not really into world Music, oldest 19 and at uni is into his own thing, he loves Glastonbury and does like Womad but understandable also would not want us cramping his style
.

DT - cliched I know but you are young as you feel. Always look forward to seeing your sunflower hat and smile!
I enjoy WOMAD for its variety in most of its aspects not least the people I meet. My other half doesn't go but knows I love WOMAD. When I am there it feels like a second home. I know I will want to tell him all about it - even if means me excitedly relating experiences that mean little to him and him patiently listening!

Yea I think at least the eldest will come back to it prob with a girlfreind in a few years. You can go on your own and have a good time but the best time is always with someone, not least helping with the get in and the taking down of the tent. I save all that I may just get a day ticket on the day with Mr Plant, no need for La de da loos!

Did your kids go to Womad when they were small DT?? I'm actually going to cry if my kids grow up n don't wanna come anymore!! x
