  If as it seems the lion is transgender then a name that could pertain to either sex would be apposite,
  E.g. Chris, Jo, Charlie etc....

  Yes I have noticed several WOMAD lions some of which are males but the majority are either female or inconclusive.

  Gabriel or Gabrielle ??

  Loving all the suggestions

  I had a play around on the idea of something which would include elements of the name of each of the continents but have discovered there is a lack of universal agreement as to how many continents there are or what they are called.......(about as definitive as determining the sex of the lion/ess!) ....if only we were still all Pangea!

  If you are very old you will remember a lion singing a song " I'm a freindly lion called Parsley". The herbs,

  Being a bit closer to lions on the DNA scale of things being a bit of a wolf myself. (sniff sniff snuzzle,wag) I think i can say with some authority that, the name, "Parsley"for a Lion is quiet frankly, awesome, presumably "Parsley" is also a vegetarian Lion? (my owner is thinking of Womad tickets (Whoop whoop hopping with Womadness anticipation)
