agree aboutmotorcycle..spoiled several numbers for me..put them at the far corner away from the entrance to the Big Red.

I too am unable to listen to music inside, or even outside the BRT. I find sitting in the centre of the site somewhere near the tulips is actually as close as I can get to it. And was it just me, or wasn't it also rather smelly - I tried to watch Damo on Sunday ( lasted about 10 mins coz I couldn't tell a word he was singing due to poor quality of sound and being drowned out by the bass drum) and it was suffering from the smell from the urinals by the gate which was pretty awful. Maybe BRT could be move somewhere else altogether outside the arena, then the Radio 3 stage could be brought into the arena, and given a decent stage where we could actually see and hear the artists perform. (and save ourselves lots of walking - let the younger crowd who frequent BRT do all the walking! )

There is definitely a problem siting the BRT next to the Funfair, especially when it includes a wall of death. Surely this could have been situated as far away from the stages as possible not directly in line with the BRT. Put the quieter elemnts of the funfair nearer the stage & perhaps the sound guys will not fell they have to compete. at least the bar had been moved from the left of the tent where it had been 2 years ago when last came to Womad

One of the highlights for me this year was Damien Dempsey but I was on the front row and could hear the stage monitors rather than the bass speakers. Otherwise I kept away from the Big Red Stage; I agree that it was unpleasantly loud and dominated much of the festival site. Drinking in the real ale bar was unpleasant at times and when walking around anywhere but the main stage it was an unnecessary accompaniment. Womad – a great event but PLEASE do something about this stage for next year.
