Haha! I might start associating orange peace signs with Manu Chao!
I would love to see him though, how cool would that be!
I'd love to see Mercan Dede play CP. And he could do a DJ set at night as "Arkin Allen".
Yes, I suggest Mercan Dede every year, but he's really good, honest. :D
I really would love to see LIOR back at womad! his music is breath taking and i discovered him at womad in reading and have followed him for years now he would be an amazing addition especially at charlton park
I'd love to see Innocence Mission at Womad, seeing Karen Peris's infectious smile radiate across the arboretum as they play the Radio 3 stage would be amazing...
I'm not going to mention Manu Chao again.
I'm going to say Los Lobos.
Lets' get back to some authentic Womad music, (unlike last two years). Less of the loud, crashey, youth orientated stuff - more of the astoundingly wonderful, memorable, real world music. With talented musicians (and dancers) and authentic instruments from places we may never visit. The best of this remains with you forever.
And......let's have a party, to music we ALL enjoy, reggae, latin....
UK Guillemots and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly
World Yerba Buena
GSquito....there has to be something for the youths! it would be awful to reject that element from womad. some people like the loud crashey stuff....me personally id like to see some PROPER dubstep and drum and bass from another country...i remember when i was younger at womad i was amazed that i could see the music i liked just in a different language with a different atmosphere, id certainly like to see more GENRES of music there was a bit too much dub-reggae this year the programme seemed to be swamped with it
Womadloverr what happened to the pirate?
would love the Peatbog Fairies to close the festival!!!
