  That's excellent news!

  However, I see from the press report that the hearing's only been postponed (it would have been completely unreasonable for the police to pull the plug at this late stage, especially given that they've had some time to raise their concerns!). I hope that it all gets sorted in time for the next hearing. It sounds to me that there's been a serious bit of "moral panic" stirred up here, possibly giving the police a (quite unjustified) reason to try and put the slammers on things.

  Nice image Baz - I can see it now on the webcam - you sitting in the middle of the arena, Carters are dismantilng the fairground and a lone bod in a G4S green jacket is kicking a tin can around as the flags droop in the drizzly rain. Nooooo - don't let it be so!

  Been reading Cohen then Gurdybloke? 'Moral panic' usually originates from rags like the Daily Mail not Womad Forum ;)

  @mcgrooger: I would LOVE it to go back to Morecambe! I actually live 25 miles from the old Reading venue and have attended WOMAD over the last 30 years at Bagshott, St Austel, Morecambe and CP. I have preferred the event at all other venues to that at CP. It used to be one of the highlights of our year to get in the van and drive all the way to Morecambe for a weekend in a B&B at a WOMAD festival (mind you, it RAINED on us most years at Morecambe)

  Seriously,,,,,, If there's a suggestion of "moral panic" it would almost certainly be from (1) uninformed press looking for a sensational story (and look where that's got them); and (2) the police possibly creating an issue where there isn't one - Certainly no inference that it would have arisen from here!! I do hope they sort it before the next hearing (though it not it will give them time to find somewhere else).
