WOMAD

• 

  Went to see and book the wedding venue on Tuesday having spent the night in a bnb in Swindon . . . and left my buggy there . . . doh!!!
  So had to go back today and get it, took me dad to look round and also visited n had a look round the hotel in Malmesbury that I've got booked out for the night of the wedding. Wanted to see just how close Womad is to the venue when we left so punched the post code in the sat nav n drove right up through the red gate n up to Charlton House . . . . made me all emotional it did!! xxx

  Empty but not desolate! I was amazed at how we just drove straight in though! I wonder if you could just take a stroll around?? Go sit in the arboretum under the trees!! xxx

  we pop into Malmesbury on the Sunday morning and thought it was a very pretty little town

  we wonder if all the path way would still be visible at the WOMAD site and how strange it would be to see them with out all the happy people

  I didn't go as far as that, but the makeshift roads in the parking area made only because so many have driven over them over the weekend are still there! Very weird experience going to Womad when there's no Womad!
  I'm afraid I didn't go as far a purple camping either retrac . .. I'm a red girl all the way!!
  Malmesbury is a really beautiful town, so quaint and English with lots of nice little non mainstream shops to tinker about it. I can't believe I've been going to Womad for 4 years and never ventured into Malmesbury!!
  I can really recommend Abbey House Gardens if you've never been. That's where we're getting married, but it is a public garden open 6 months a year (March - October I think) . . . it's right in the heart of Malmesbury and is quite literally the most beautiful place I've ever been!! xxx

  Also! I've got all 12 rooms at the Kings Arms booked out for the night of the wedding which is the Wednesday befroe Womad and when he did me my booking print out I saw that there are already people booked in to two of the rooms for the Fri Sat n Sun . . . . Womaders preparing early!!! xxx
