If the bass was loud enough to rattle the loo roll holders in the loos adjacent to the Big Red, then surely it was too loud!

dancing loo roll holders.......

Absolutly! In fact, The Big Red Tent has become a forbidden stage for my ears. . . Remember our last enjoyable concert there, BBB at Womud edition 2007

Oops, my previous post referred to Siam, I meant Big Red. Still Womad-lagged

I love the Big Red Tent, it's always buzzing, and a great draw for younger people.
I love to feel the bass.

It was great on Thursday for LKJ - no probs with levels and good bass. But for the Portico Quartet as previously commented, it was almost unbearable. And I'm deaf from one too many ZZ Top gigs!!

Agreed...and in faines, I don't think it was just the type of music being played, it was a sound enginerr/system issue. Sound was often distorted and I had been some of the artists, i would have been really naffed off!

I posted about this last year but it fell on deaf ears (groan) TOO MUCH BASS. I really like to hear delicate things like cimbalom, frame drums, and such but when the bass comes in.....may as well go for a beer

Agree Arms & legs - wonderful Damiem Dempsey would have been horrified to know that his lyrics were barely understandable over the bass. I suspect the guys on the sound desk are now partly deaf.

I have to say I got quite a 'buzz' (ahem) from the vibrations of the Portico Quartet.....
