A truly wonderful festival once again. However which mindless idiot decided to mess around with the layout of the family camping area. If something is not broken, don't fix it! Apart from that horrible 'them and us' fence separating us from those regimented rows of tents that looked like a cross between an army base and a prison camp, it really put that corner of the FAMILY camping further from the loos. The word Family is important here. It was perfectly OK before. And while I am venting my spleen - 40 showers among how many thousands of people? Get real. Bring back the communal showers as well as the cubicles.

loved the new layout putting the womad camping next to disabled area meaning that the disabled with famies could benefit from peace and quiet and the disabled facilities but camp in womad or tipi's - best womad sleep i have had for years

Also thought the new layout worked well, but perhaps because it suited people walking from the camper van section, where the journey was reduced considerably.

hated new layout, dont know if it was just me but it felt really cramped in family this year

Lots of space in regular camping, but don't tell the families. Agree with you Sunbird. A campsite with nowhere to wash your hands!!! What? If you did that in France, they would storm the Bastille. I think we need a campaign.

I agree about the gated community - keeping the posh people away from us.Most of the teepees appeared empty. Stick them somwhere we don't have to see them

It would be worth the price of admission alone to have the mixed communal showers back as well as the little box showers for the separatists.
The gated communities were a bit of an eyesore. If the glampers want to swan in and swan out, they could probably manage to walk another couple of hundred yards (or else they could be ferried in an out of the arena on sedan chairs or rickshaws).
I like to camp next to the trees, so I was a bit put out to see that the copses has been fenced off, as well as the creep of the fenced-off areas. Still, at least the fences served to give some of us a little feeling of solidarity with the Palestinians.

Whilst i appreciated what felt like a shorter walk from the caravan fiield i was surprised at how cramped the camping area looked, especially given the space in the posh tents area. I assumed it was down to waterlogged fields and not a new scheme?
I was more concerned about the number of security guards everywhere and some of their tactics.

I thought it was as cramped on Thursday as it normally is on Friday/Saturday.
I wondered if it was due to an increased interest in the thirtieth anniversary event, or if it was because of the layout tweaks and other space management arrangements that had funnelled more tents into the family camping area.

did not like new siting of Camp Womad or Molly's. Camp Womad cramped the family area and was better where was before and Molly's needs a rethink..park and camp had real difficulties with it.
