Alan's still a bit peed off at having his hair braided and therefore a bit wary - but I think you'll win him over, Jambo :-)

We did well to get back for teatime - a long lovely night and a long, lovely saunter home - Baz's elephant enjoyed himself too - I see he has grabbed the hammock for a snooze! Ok, Jambo, with your amazing piloting skills, take us to Sicily!!!!! We'lll leave a note for Baz - we'll come back to pick him up!!!

Oooooo - good to be on the Big Blue Balloon of Infinate Capacity and Joy and Womadness woooohoooo!

Likewise Bloohair, Jimmy's is nearly on my doorstep too and I was going to go this year with my son & family- but he's got work committments & I've got theatre ones, so....... and I really wanted to see Son of Dave. Oh well, you'll have to let us know how it was Jambo Y. Hope the weather stays clement for you. It was a bit chilly camping in Rendlesham Forest the other week!

He may not have been pleasing to your average Radio 3 listener but world music has been available in the UK for a lot longer than R3's involvement. Andy Kershaw and John Peel did more for African music than anybody AND they did it on Radio 1!!!

No AK did not invent African music....he simply introduced us to it.

sock nostalgia hey? I had rainbow ones with seperate toes -of those were the sock days -socks aint what they used to be!
the blister I understand -what have you been doing in your timedefying loft to start exuding eau de ralgex -sounds alcoholic! Dont't turn to drink now SS we are on the way to womadness!:-) :-) :-)

.. they may be happier looking behind them - socks of days gone by; odd socks, long socks, short socks, over the knee socks etc. - especially when one has a blister, and the other is exuding eau de ralgex! :-) :-)

We were just over the fence from park and camp at the end nearest the gate and there were loos there both this year and last so it depends whereabouts you are. And the area itself grew considerably this year too.

Humph's advice right on -I think we can all claim to have kept a good hold of it.
love the idea of hennaing the elephant and heading off to visit Baka when Baz is back. Let's also call in on Cote D'ivoire, Angola, see Thomas Mapfumo in Zimbabwe and bolster his protests!

Mornin'! Jump, hoppety, skip, jump, hoppety, skip, jump, hoppety skip - not long now!!!!!

Wasn't Rokia Traore fab? Loved the way the tent was draped too - very happy night! Thinking of taking Baz's elephant for a bit of exercise today, ending with a night in the rainforest with Baka Beyond (artistic geographical license in blatant full swing, once again!) as he hasn't been out much so far. Fancy coming along - we could spend the morning decorating him in wonderful henna patterns (or making a mess)?

We are still in Bamako at the moment as this is where Bax will come back to I don't think it would be fair to leave (even if it would give us a giggle!). I would have thought Happycamper would have joined us to hurry on the days towards her next event - it has certainly brought Jimmy's round!

Still enjoying Humph's immortal words : Never lose touch with the silly. Was there ever a better snippet of advice for an enjoyable happy life?

Mr Sock and Other Sock -Alan is now wolf and not interested in socks -he seems to relish the thought of flesh, feathers and gore so sock or undead sock should be safe. Get a very large clove of garlic though -just in case he's a were -wolf!:-) :-) :-)

Run for your lives! It seems that Chesney has turned into a zombie sock. . . didn't you see the strange look in his eyes? it seems that the partial digestion inside Alan, followed by exposure to chemical waste at the landfill site must have somehow caused him to become undead. . . . We were staying a sock-safe hostel but he's been gone for over a day - I don't know where he is! Based on my knowledge of George Romero's movies, this could be very bad. . . be prepared for the worst!

Andy I'll let you know what Jimmy's was like -at least you have some culture ahead- I havenot got any arranged after Jimmy,-so a blank canvas.:-) :-)
