From United Kingdom
British reggae godfather's bass-heavy revue
What have all the following got in common? Massive Attack, Sade, The Orb, Perry Farrell, Jamiroquai, Lee Perry, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys and The KLF? All - and a good few dozen others - have employed either the production or remixing skills of one Neil Fraser, aka Mad Professor. This is a man who's never really had time to catch his breath. Since establishing his Ariwa studio in the early '80s, the Guyana-born reggae king of South London has been in seriously high demand, his trademark crystal-clear mix being the envy of many lesser-light knob-twiddlers. Not that the Prof's a studio boffin locked in his studio night and day. He likes the daylight too and for many years has been leading his all-singing, all-dancing live dub show on a seemingly endless jaunt across several continents. Now it's the turn of a patch of Wiltshire parkland to enjoy a little sunsplash.
