A Naifa is a band who's music is steeped in Portuguese traditions with an all important twist of the modern and unique. This combination results in an intimate atmosphere, where Portuguese identity is strengthened by the contemporary verse.
The band, initially formed by Luis Varatojo (Portuguese guitar), João Aguardela (Bass), Paulo Martins (Drums) and Maria Antonia Mendes (voice), changed their band members in 2010, a year after Aguardela passed away. Nowadays the group is formed of Luis Varatojo (Portuguese guitar), Sandra Baptista (Bass), Samuel Palitos (drums) and Maria Antonia Mendes (voice).
The band edited their first album "Canções Subterraneas" (Subterranean songs) in 2004 and their work was positively acclaimed both by the public and the media. In 2006 the second album "3 minutos para a maré encher" (3 minutes for upper tide) gave them international recognition. In 2008 the band released "Pequena Inclinação para o mal" (An innocent inclination towards evil), their third album.
